Adobe buys Macromedia

First thing first: Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 has been released!

Moving on...
[Adobe buys Macromedia]

Think about the entire spectrum of technologies covered by these companies...

  1. Graphic design and print layout: The ultimate in vector & rastor-based design tools
  2. Scalable web graphics: Macromedia's proprietary Flash technology, and Adobe's recent adoption of SVG support
  3. Web design: Dreamweaver to pull it all together
  4. Web development: ColdFusion has more ground to stand on
  5. Digital Media: Video production, special effects, digital audio, dvd production
  6. Digital Imaging: Adobe's proprietary PDF technology

As beautiful as these technologies are, they're still majorly lacking in any kind of enterprise functionality...

... which means they'll still play nice with .NET!  :)
