1:31:40
That's the moment that you have to decide whether you're going to turn off the movie and write the whole thing off as another rags to riches, happy, upbeat boxing movie, or whether you're ready to introduce an entirely new dramatic, depressing, and potentially movie-ruining element to the story. As a new fan of Hillary Swank (The Core, & Next Karate Kid??!), the post-1:31:40 parts of the movie were very hard to watch. Overall, the dialogue between Eastwood and Freeman, and between Danger and anybody were very entertaining. I did like how the movie took so many hard turns in it's style, going from solid action to solid drama, but always laced with good comedy. There aren't many movies out now that aren't “just another [whatever] kind of movie.”
Sean took one for the team by being the 1st to see the movie without knowing it wasn't just another boxing flick... I do recommend it, even if just for the 1st 1:31:40 (~75%) of the movie. I know that without the spoiler (which usually I hate but I agree with Sean in this case it's totally justified), I wouldn't have liked the movie either.
