I haven't posted in awhile (these things seem to happen, it's strange.. can't shut me up one week, then I'm mute the next, I'm blog-bi-polar)... anyway...
New Item for the resume
Microsoft SQL 6.5 (yeah, the 1996 one)... I'm now a SQL 6.5 N I N J A. Now I'm sitting here thinking to myself... “self, I can't wait til MS has a MMC snapin for SQL Enterprise Manager... maybe the next version will be compatible with Win2k!.. Some kind of scheduler would be awesome, some kind of agent... how about extending this Trace utility into a full-fledged server profiler???. . . query optimization... replication??? Data Transformation Services!!! OLAP Support!!! ENGLISH QUERY!!!! yay!”
hmmm - anyway, everything seems to be going alright in my world...
My World (mostly random)
1. Thinking about buying a home in Muskego... considering selling ours By Owner
2. Really hurt my hand golfing with Tinkler last week, no idea how, it explained my brutal slice throughout the afternoon, it's my story and I'm sticking to it, even if it means I'm a total wussbag.
3. Travis Feirtag spoke on C++ in .Net on Tuesday night, very interesting, but I'm in no position to worry about perf right now, as I'm working mostly with web still, I will continue to keep C++ on the other side of the fence, maybe toy with picking up some other managed or interpreted languages to help serve my daily needs.
4. Brian Tinkler accepted a job at Microsoft [Brian's post]
5. Scott Isaacs has replaced Brian as the President of our local .Net UG
6. I have been asked to serve as VP for said user-group (thanks Scott & everyone) - I'm still not sure how formalized this is, the transition should be clear soon I think.
7. optionScalper continues to mold the crap in my head into something that seems more like an understanding of real applied science and math [trading] [PBounce]
8. oS, casey, and Damon have something to say about this posting regarding religiousness.
9. My Wife & I are hooked on Dead Like Me (via Netflix, we don't have cable).
I made the stupid mistake a few weeks back of writing an enormous post and attempting to post it without saving it first, Session Expired, clicked back, Page has Expired, tried everything I could think of to get my content back, then gave up. I think the last time this happened was last October... it sucked then too, I went months with little or no postage. I'll not stay away so long this time...
