I miss writing here. This site has become a stomping ground for pharmaceutical spam, and I'm still on the fence about which way to move it - dasblog or subtext... or ??? I'm writing more than ever, but most of it falls onto my TiddlyWiki onto my thumb drive, never to see the light of day...
Jason Haley has gotten back into the swing of things, and his daily updates have regained their regularity... he works hard to pick through the noise and get quality .net goodness out there... much like...
Mike Gunderloy, slowing down a little on his 'Fresh Cup' project, as Larkware continues to pump out regular .Net sweetness... I'm hoping this trend (the lacking freshness of fresh cup) is a result of Mike feeling the .Net 3 / Vista love?
Kathy Sierra's 'last' public post (for now?) aggregates some of the best graphics she's put together over the years. The whole issue makes me sick... I had sent her an e-mail to see what it would take to get her to come into Milwaukee to talk at our 2007 Deeper in .Net event... the next day, my answer came as a post to the world as Kathy made her announcement, stating that she was not going to be speaking publicly again (she had actually cancelled her ETech presentations & keynote that week) any time soon. There are hundreds if not thousands of posts that cover every political and philosophical aspect of this... fundamentally though, it's a matter of common sense (How could this hate and behavior ever be worth your time?), and common courtesy (If this was your mom/child/wife/etc, how would it make you feel?). It's frustrating and mind-numbing to start to consider all of the aspects to this mess, from the motives that started it to the mobs that followed it...
Milwaukee .Net is still a quite place for blogs... Here's what I have for April so far:
8 posts from Damon
5 posts from Jim Geurts (whom I have yet to meet, but his Property Center project is very cool)
5 posts from Chris Peterson
4 posts from Brennan
4 posts from Dan Bartles
3 posts from Scott
3 posts from Sean (including the VS2005 release for Codus and an announcement that he's going commerical - congrats!)
2 posts from Casey
2 posts from Chris Pietschmann
Things are pretty quiet by John Mitchell, Vibhu, Travis, and Chad
(Who am I missing??? I haven't updated this list in over a year)
Finally... Leon Bambrick's Secret Geek site has my attention: new dad, 'MicroISV' advocate, realist, innovator, comedian... good stuff...
